Kanye West gives fashion advice to Kendall and Kylie Jenner

KANYE West gave advice to Kendall and Kylie Jenner for their fashion line.
The budding young fashion designers have revealed the rapper - who is dating their half-sister Kim Kardashian - helped them create their new range for American clothing store PacSun and they found his advice "inspiring".
Kylie told Fashionista.com: "He's such a creative person and he's really cool and it's like very cool to have him in the family now. He's such a nice guy. A couple of days ago, I was in the kitchen and so was he and I was just talking about my clothing line and how excited I was and he was like, 'Your clothing line - I can help you and design. We can do this!'
"He's just kind of about taking over the world with fashion pretty much and that's really inspiring."
Having launched his own fashion lines in the past, including Dw by Kanye West and Pastelle Clothing, the 'Clique' hitmaker's support has been welcomed by Kendall, 17, and Kylie, 15.
However, the pair insist won't be turning to their famous siblings - Kim, Kourtney and Khloe - for any help with their new venture.
Asked what they have learned from their sisters, Kendall explained: "Not much. I mean, with our clothing line and our jewellery line, we didn't want much input from them, just because we wanted this to be all us. We're trying to not be so involved.
"This isn't their clothing line. This isn't their jewellery line. It's ours. We don't want their input on it. We didn't need it. We know what we're talking about for the most part." – Bang Media

The best 'kuih raya' you have ever made @ eaten - sofea

Assalamualaikum ,

I hope those of you celebrating Eid are still having a blast.

Thursday was after all another holiday in Malaysia, most of you are only back to work next week and it is customary to carry on with the feasting and merry making for the entire month. As for us we managed a quiet and relaxing weekend over a Star Wars movie marathon, good food and doing just about nothing.

Semperit is the favorite kuih of many during Eid and to some it's a must have. An airy and light version of a butter cookie, it's traditionally made with a mixture of egg yolks, corn flour and regular flour. This is the kind of cookie you can eat and keep eating, till the whole jar is gone and yet you'll want more.

Semperit (Butter Cookies)

·         450 grams corn flour (1 can of Brown and Polson)
·         454 grams butter
·         7 small egg yolks (use free range eggs for best results)
·         1 1/4 cups castor sugar
·         1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
·         1 teaspoon rose essence

Preheat oven to 175°C.

Mix the egg yolks with sugar and rose essence. In a large bowl, mix the flours together. Rub in 3/4 of the butter into the corn flour and all purpose flour mixture. Add in the egg mixture bit by bit to form a soft dough. Do not over knead. If the dough is dry, add more butter until a smooth consistency is achieved.

Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Remove to cool on a wire rack.

Alternativename(s) : Kueh Tat
Place of origin :     Malaysia, Singapore
Region or state : Southeast Asia
Course : Dessert
Mainingredient :  Pastry (butter, egg, yolk, corn starch and pineapple jam

Pineapple tarts refers to small, bite-size pastries filled with or topped with pineapple jam found in different parts of Asia. In South East Asia exists one form of Pineapple tart. A different form of pineapple tart, also known as Pineapple pastry or Pineapple cake is found inTaiwan.
The pastry consists of a large proportion of butter and egg yolk, besides using corn starch, giving it a rich, buttery, tender and melt-in-the-mouth texture. The pineapple jam is usually made by slowly reducing and caramelizing grated fresh pineapple that has been mixed with sugar and spices - usually cinnamonstar anise and cloves.
Typical shapes include a flat, open tart topped with pineapple jam under a lattice of pastry, rolls filled with jam that are open at the ends and jam-filled spheres.
Considered a "festive cookie", pineapple tarts are usually consumed during Hari RayaChinese New Year and Deepavali periods in Singapore and Malaysia. However, they are sold all year round by commercial bakeries and by souvenir stores serving tourists.
The Taiwanese version of Pineapple Tart is known as Fènglísū (鳳梨酥). The filling is fully enclosed within a rectangular tart. Generally the taste is sweet due to sugar added. However, some bakers add or even substitute pineapple with winter melon to make the jam less tart.

Selamat Hari Raya (in advance!)
please forgive me for any of my wrongdoings to any of you
have a great & blessed Ramadhan and Syawal!
